In fulfillment of its initiative to explore and expand leadership potentials in Africa, the Future Africa Leaders Academy, in the year 2014, identified ten passionate and inspiring youth leaders all over Africa who had excelled in their leadership and drive to create better life and living for young people in Africa.

At the highly anticipated Awards night which held on the 31st of December 2016, Mr. Lotan Salapei from Kenya whose meritorious work in year impacted hundreds of street children in Malawi and thousands more through collaborations with corporate organizations, received the honour of the Future Africa Leaders’ Awards Star Prize Winner for the year 2014.

  LOTAN SALAPEI (STAR WINNER) - KENYA

  Lotan’s efforts led to the adoption of a children's home which saw over 300 street children receive educational and skills acquisition training, shelter and personal supplies. He organized 2 impactful outreaches tagged 'Reach out Street Children' which saw another 300 street children receive educational training, welfare and mentorship. His 'Dignity of the Girl child' campaign saw him partner with corporate manufacturers, which provided amenities to 3,000 young girls. Lotan extended his work to 30 secondary schools in his city where he organized Christian events which saw 3,000 youth indelibly impacted.

  CYNTHIA ADAEZE ONWUCHURUBA - NIGERIA

  Cynthia organized major mentorship programmes geared towards the academic and moral development of young people within and beyond Rivers State, Nigeria and also organized academic seminars for secondary school students with about 4000 students benefitting.

  HIFERAW HANA DEMEKE - ETHIOPIA

  Her proactive approach to leadership development led her to pioneer a special group called 'STREET GOLD', with the vision of transforming the lives of young boys and girls picked from the street. Shiferaw pioneered a weekly feeding program with 550 indigent children benefitting.

  OGBUANI CHRIS OGBONNA - NIGERIA

  Chris has impacted over 20,000 youths in 15 schools with his strategic initiatives which includes a partnership with the Ministry of Education to organize quarterly mentoring programs that cater for over 5,000 aspiring entrepreneurs. Chris also organized a Christian evangelical service which saw 1,213 young people receive salvation and 513 of them being filled with the Holy Spirit.

  JUDE OSAKWE – NIGERIA

  23 year old Jude has influenced over 8,000 students in 12 secondary schools in Lagos Nigeria. He has established youth clubs in 8 schools where he distributes 1,000 copies of the Rhapsody Teevo devotional monthly and has organized a three-day training and empowerment program where 2,630 youths learnt various skills that empowered them to become young, self-sufficient entrepreneurs

  TRUDY MASHA – SOUTH AFRICA

  She organized the 'Donate a Library Campaign', which collected and donated 3,000 textbooks, reading books, dictionaries and writing books to rural schools in Lubombom and Lokwani. Trudy has since collected an additional 3,000 books and distributed 400 copies of the Rhapsody of Realities devotional for Teenagers (TEEVO) in a single youth empowerment event.

  SHAWN SAMOISY - MAURITIUS

  Shawn planned and organized a Leadership Training Conference where he tutored and trained 200 young people on leadership principles. He also organized two evangelical programs in his local community, notorious for its organized crime, and had about 400 young people in attendance.

  TINOFARA MTUWA - ZIMBABWE

  Tinofara impacted 4,914 young people building in them the right mindset for success. He embarked on community projects by mobilizing 6 secondary schools to carry out the Harare Community Clean-up Project. Tinofara organized the Day of the African child, which saw 414 young people receive training on spiritual and educational topics.

  ENOCH OFORI - GHANA

  Yemisi tutored 1,000 secondary school students daily and established 12 evangelically based associations for young people in different schools in her community. She planned and hosted a Conference, where she spoke to about 2,000 young women, painting for them a new picture of their future. She organized a Conference for young people on St. Valentine's Day with 1,312 people in attendance.

  JACKSON SAMUEL IBORO - NIGERIA

  24-year-old Samuel pioneered Christian youth clubs in 12 schools and organized a Prayer Day/Orientation for Junior and Senior Secondary School students where all 250 students in attendance received free copies of the TeeVo and other materials. 1500 students benefitted from his educational study resource; as he organized a Security & Health Forum in 10 primary and Secondary Schools at which 2,129 students were enlightened on safety and security issues.
