Africa’s First Female President Graces Future Africa Leaders Award Ceremony

The New Year’s Eve Service with Pastor Chris featured a special segment: the Future Africa Leaders Award (FALA). During the much-anticipated ceremony, young, enterprising African leaders were presented with awards in honor of their selfless and devoted service to improving the socio-economic state of their nations. The former President of Liberia and Africa’s first female President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, graced the occasion as special guest of honor.

In a thought-provoking speech, the former President posited that Africa has come a long way and made great progress. President Sirleaf stated that, despite the continent’s struggle with moving away from the trappings of colonialism, Africa has taken charge of her destiny. In her words, “there is nothing, more or less, that an African leader cannot do.” She, however, concluded that Africa needs to move at a faster pace, encouraging individuals and systems to support young leaders and promote gender equity in leadership as a way to put more hands to the plough in bringing Africa’s glorious future closer.

With these patriotic words, young African leaders from different countries were called out to receive the prestigious FALA award from LoveWorld President, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome. These distinguished young leaders from Togo, Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola, Benin Republic and more, who have made remarkable impact in various fields even at the expense of their lives, were honored with awards accompanied with a cash prize of 10,000 USD.


Global Audience in Millions Step into a Year of Perfection on Pastor Chris Word

“2020 is the Year of Perfection,” Pastor Chris announces to the hearing of millions around the world.

In the course of the Global New Year's Eve Service with Pastor Chris, at exactly a minute past 12 midnight GMT+1, the man of God welcomed the global congregation to the year 2020. Giving more insight into the message of the year, Pastor Chris taught that perfection is God's desire for His children, and as such is not only achievable but it is the nature of the Christian.

In addition to the opening scriptures, Pastor Chris highlighted Job 1:1 and 8 among other scriptures, pointing to Noah, Abraham and Job as people from whom the Lord demanded perfection and credited with the same. Pastor Chris also read from Ephesians 5:1 and Luke 8:14, before stating four important things in perfection: alignment; completeness; excellence; and, fruition. "Until you believe in perfection, you will never practice it, but in 2020, you'll love and practice perfection," he said.

Demonstrating God's liquid love, Pastor Chris prayed for every nation of the world and for every sick person, declaring God's divine healing upon them. He also proclaimed blessings on the global congregation, to establish them in God's perfect will for them in 2020.


Young Heroine, Babiene Heline Eweni, Claims Coveted FALA Star Prize 2019

The 2019 Future Africa Leaders Award (FALA) was one of the highpoints of the December 31st New Year's Eve Service with the LoveWorld President, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome. The ceremony, which recognizes the inspiring work of young, enterprising Africans, who have contributed to the development and progress of their nations, youth empowerment and more, broadcast live to millions of participants around the world.

The high point of the award ceremony was the announcement of the 2019 FALA Star Prize Winner from the list of the 10 awardees: Christian Appiah from Togo, Daniel Johnson Fernandez from Benin Republic, Xavier Tambiavula from Angola, Edgar Mwila from Zambia, Vera Kissiedu from Ghana, Hanson Hanson Ekpo from Nigeria, Babiene Heline Eweni from Cameroon, Kennedy Wesonga from Kenya, Rufaro Mutyamaenza from Zimbabwe and Ibrahim Byakika from Uganda. Babiene Heline Eweni from Cameroon emerged winner of the coveted Star Prize award announced was by the special guest of honor at the event, the former Liberian President and Nobel Laureate, her Excellency Madame Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

23-year-old Babiene Heline Eweni from Cameroon organized skill development programs for the physically challenged in her nation. Her zeal and passion for youth empowerment led to several young people benefiting from her skill acquisition initiatives, resulting in self-independence and reliance. Helena currently runs the largest medical campaign in her nation, Cameroon. Heline has also hosted 8 Back-to-School campaigns with a widespread impact on more than 600 young people. She has provided education grants to over 500 students in the nation of Cameroon, among other accomplishments. Her inspiring work has earned her the special recognition of the LoveWorld president as FALA 2019, Star Prize winner alongside a cash prize of $25,000.
