Tony from NIGERIA asks:
Warm greetings sir. What's the difference between praying in the spirit and praying with the spirit?
Pastor Lanre proffers:
Thank you so much sir. Well, praying ‘with’ the spirit clearly is praying in tongues with the spirit. But when you say praying ‘in’ the spirit, it has to do with the consciousness of the spirit and in fact it doesn’t have to do with speaking in tongues at all! You could be speaking in a language that is known, uttering words of the spirit, you can sing in the spirit. So, that consciousness of being in the spirit is what praying ‘in’ the spirit is all about. But praying ‘with’ the spirit usually just refers to praying in tongues.

Pastor Chris answers:
Very important! I hope you got that. Praying ‘with’ the spirit as different from praying ‘in’ the spirit Praying ‘in’ the spirit is a more general terminology while praying ‘with’ the spirit means that you are praying from your human spirit and that is usually in tongues.
